profile
As a native of the german city Dresden, Sigrun Anderßen has spent most of her creative time in her hometown. Since early childhood she has been involved in various art forms such as pottery, painting, woodwork or textile art. After the fall of the Berlin Wall her strong interest in art manifested itself in becoming self employed in the field of avant-garde and high-quality clothing. In 22 years, three clothing stores were established in, among other locations, the center of Dresden. The inimitable style of the interior characterized futurism and reduction to the essentials and appealed to extravagant women who were willing to experiment with their clothing style.
Today she lives art in its most natural form with the creation of prints, paintings and objects.
She is married and has two adult children.
what inspires me
The style of futurism and reduction to the essentials which is known from my clothing stores is now experimentally continued in my art in ever new forms of expression. My focus is on high quality materials and printing techniques such as drypoint.
Motifs from nature and crafts but also the human body in the form of portrait and nude paintings inspire me to bring beauty in its most essential form. The island of Hiddensee with its pristine and wild natural world inspires me every year anew and, along with the Radebeul wine & Elbe landscape, is one of my great sources of inspiration and creativity.
